.....The Cheshire Cat
|
Hi All,
There have been so many sites I have seen listed by Rootschatters - I keep going to them - thinking that looks good - must make a note of that - put it into my Favorites list under Family History - will visit it again shortly - go back to our main site - find another one - great new site - How to date old photos - put that in my Favorites - this is a vicious circle - how can I stop!
Thanks to everyone - keep those sites coming - I will make a "Page 2" now!!
Cheers
Keith

by My Daughter. Chatting to find her Roots !

Hi Keith,
Yes, this is a problem ! In fact, it is one of the reasons I made a "home page" out of my favourites http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,29556.0.html
I can now sort them into categories and add some relevant (for me) comments to each link.
But that is only the technical side of it !
The biggest problem, is that there are so many links, and they all look so interesting, and there are only so many hours in a day, and there are more links coming all the time, and they all look so interesting, and there are only so many hours in a day, ... and there are more links coming all the time, and they all look so interesting, and there are only so many hours in a day, ... and there are more links coming all the time, and they all look so interesting, ... and there are only so many hours in a day, and there are more links coming all the time, etc, etc
But, as you say,
Thanks to everyone - keep those sites coming

I agree this can be a major problem. I use a mix of browser html pages and Favourites.
However, whatever you use, I would suggest backing them up to disk (if you have a CDRW) or floppy since it represents a lot of work and if you have a problem with your PC all this work can be lost.
Just a thought ...

I am ready for something...but I don't know what!

another important consideration is the number of emails you have in total in all folders. ie Inbox and Sent etc Outlook express has a default limit ( which I reached before Xmas) at which point Outlook Express will refuse to load at all. This will mean no access to emails. You will also then be unable to open outlook to either backup and retrieve emails or actually delete some of your offending emails to get Outlook going again.
A catch22 situation if ever there is one. No easy solution to this
