Can anyone help please. We have a Goodman's freeview box with recordable hard drive, which up until a week ago was working perfectly well. Then one night we tried to get programmes up and it kept saying no signal. It is still holding recorded programmes on the library.
We have another freeview box in the dining room which is connected to the same arial as the Goodman's one, and that is working okay.
Does anybody know what the problem might be ?

First thing that comes to mind is that it is frozen. Have you unplugged it and let it stand for a few minutes to drain memories. Then plug it back in let it reset and see if it works. Secondly is the cable still plugged in or broken anywhere. Bring the other box to the set and change them over to see if the box under query is actually defective.
It does sound like faulty aerial input cable or bad input connector. I had similar problem last week with my LG TV with freeview. It kept coming up with "No Signal" and "Weak signal" I replaced aerial cable and connectors from wall socket to the TV. Everything worked fine afterwards. Jake.
Thanks for that Jake. Hubby has tried it on his new digital aerial cable and it still wont have it. His own freeview box works perfectly well, so we have decided it must be the actual box.
We are going to buy a new one. We are a bit miffed as this one is only twelve months old. I hope they get all these reception things sorted out before we switch over, or there are going to be a lot of disgruntled viewers out there
Kind regards Su

Before buying a new one, you say the faulty box is twelve month old. Check if it is in fact still in warranty. Also if bought from a chain store go back and create if it is just out of warranty. See manager not assistant, ask for head office address and contact name. Be a nuisance, it usually works.
