I have left this lot for awhile and come back to it today as another member of the Maghie family has contacted me through GR

We know James Maghie was married to Mary Lowthain and have a daughter Elizabeth

I know James remarried in 1847 Gretna Green to Anne Young

So Mary must have died between the 1841 census and 1847
any chance that someone can find her death
then I can send to Carlisle for Elizabeth's birth and Mary's death at the same time ( Mary Maghie )wife of James

I pass the road end down to the M6 every week and always say to my husband we'll go that way one day i want you to see Scotby ,Where the Maghie's once lived

I posted off one £7.00 cheque and gave them all the info I had so here's hoping they have a look for me
They are good they never send you a certificate unless they are sure

Hi Barbara,

I have received a letter and my cheques back from Carlisle today Sad Sad

No birth of Elizabeth Maghie born 1840

There is the death of an Elizabeth Magee died 1841 daughter of a James and Mary Magee she was aged 5 making her born 1836 before registrations began


While searching for Mary's death years 1841 1842 and 1846 was a respect of a 15 year old girl..

just had a post from one in GR looking for the same family

James Maghie and Ann Young ( his second wife ) As I am from their daughter Ann b 1860 GR rellie is from her bother Thomas
