HILL Family in Caithness
« on: Saturday 28 June 08 23:15 UTC (UK) »

I am descended from the Hill family who lived in the Watten area during the 1700s and 1800s and have connections with the following places - Lynegar,Bylbster,Forss,Lybster,Bardnaclaven,Kanzary.
I would be delighted to hear from anyone who thinks they know anything at all about the Hill family. My great great great grandfather George Hill settled in Edinburgh but was born in Thurso in 1822 and married Margaret Ramsay.
Relevant names are:
William Hill (Lynegar) married Elizabeth Fairweather (Northdun) on 5th August 1768
James Hill (Kanzary) married Jane McKinlay (Toftingall) on 5th July 1805
If Lindsay who left a message in the Caithness.org site finds this can you contact me....we are related (both descended from George born in 1822)!!!

Many thanks,
Craig
