Do you have any particular name you are looking for. There are a number of CHADWELLS in the Faringdon PRs from about 1680.

Hello

Thank you for this info. about the Chadwells. I  think Lawrence Chadwell is my ancestor. The line leads from him all the way down to my Grandmother, Dorothy Chadwell,  born around 1900 in Hove.  Are any of these Faringdon parish registers available online do you know? Cheers

Hi

Farringdon is included in the IGI (Family Search) for baptisms & Marriages,  I checked what was on there against the transcripts of the actual registers which you can buy on fiche or CD from OFHS.  The burials are also on the Berkshire burial index produced for sale on CD by BFHS

Hello

Do you know if there is any further info. relating to Lawrence Chadwells wife, Avis Umpton.  She was born in 1659 in Faringdon. Are her parents listed? It seems the Umptons were earlier associated with a manor called Wadley House near Faringdon. Does that make any sense to you? Thank you for your response.
