I am having a real problem trying to locate a Death date for Hannah Buttle born c 1814.
Hannah lived Holme on Spalding Moor,I have found her on ALL census's from 1841 to 1891,(1851/91 she is a widow)she was Widowed in 1848.
I have tried freebmd with various spelling variations of her surname & even her first name without success.There is 1 Death entry showing for the year 1893 for someone of the same name & right age but this is NOT her(I have that cert)
Can anyone help or suggest what I might do or where I might go now.Thankyou.

Hello Jill,thankyou for the reply.Yes I did spot that & wondered,think maybe I will have to go for it.I do feel she died in the place she always lived as she still had family & children living in & around the same village ,& I really couldn't see her remarrying at the age of 70+(as someone once suggested)having been a widow for all those years.

Before odering the Death cert for the Ann mentioned above I checked out the census for any ANN Buttles in the Howden area & have found there are 2 in that district on the 1891 census,the ages correspond with the deaths listed so likely those deaths showing on FREEbmd are for these 2 Anns & therefore are not my Hannah.

Hi Jill.I have the certificate of the Hannah Buttle death 1893.that Hannah was married to a George & near a neighbour of my Hannah,the certificate says that she was the wife of George.This George is not a brother to MY Hannahs late husband(Wiliam),William was illegitamate.
The informant on that particular D cert is no-one that I know/recognise.
My Hannah was alone in 1891,she is not on the 1901 as far as I can see,her birthplace of Stainforth is shown on almost all other census,she married H on Sp Moor,& lived there the whole time,1833 marriage & 1841-91 she's there, she did have a big family many who remained in the same area.

Have you tried the burial register for Holme on Spalding Moor?
If not, I would be happy to have a look for you sometime although it is likely to be a few weeks away.
