Hi,
I am doing a one name study of the Rossiter family and am looking for information please about the parents, grandparents and siblings of Elizabeth Rossiter who married William Baker at Bath in the December Qtr of 1846.
Unfortunately, this is currently the only info I have about the couple.
I found this on the IGI but I'm not sure if it is relevant:- http://www.familysearch.org/ENG/search/IGI/individual_record.asp?recid=100139680806&lds=1®ion=2®ionfriendly=British+Isles&frompage=99
I also found a William & Eliza Baker in the 1881 UK Census here but again I'm not sure if it is the right one:- http://www.familysearch.org/ENG/search/census/household_record.asp?HOUSEHOLD_CODE=1881BR_2483196&HOUSEHOLD_SUB=1&frompage=5
Any information would be greatly appreciated please. TIA.
Best wishes

Does this Elizabeth Baker (Rossiter) born Williton look familiar as there are a couple of others married to Williams including one born in Bath.
Can't see an Elizabeth in 1841 Elworthy, Stogumber area

Hi Cazay,
Many thanks for that.
There were Rossiters at Williton but I'm having some difficulty tracking them down in my database.
Could you post details of the other Williams please and we'll see if they match any better?
Best wishes

Hi rcuser,
I am sorry but I fear this is the type of thing we will be unable to help with. I am afraid you just do not have enough information. Without the marriage Cert we cannot even tell that Elizabeth Rossiter did in fact marry William Baker. A submitted entry on the IGI does not convince me. A William Baker may have married an Elizabeth in 1846 - it doesn't even say it was Elizabeth Rossiter. 1881 census again so many William Bakers with wives Elizabeth about - If we look at FreeBMD we see 3 marriages in Bath of William Bakers with possible wives named Elizabeth in 1846 and 1847. Cazay has tried but I suspect this couple may be from a marriage in 1850 at Williton. At this stage we have no idea whatsoever how old this Elizabeth was when she married, was she single, where was she from. There are just way too many unanswered questions. I fear you will need to find somebody connected to this couple or purchase the marriage certificate to learn more about Elizabeth...........Kris

Hi Kris,
Nice to hear from you. Hope all is well.
Thanks for that. It was something of a long shot.
I'll dig around and see what else I can find.
Best wishes
