Would someone try to find this family in 1861 for me please?
William Fletcher, born 1822 Hertingfordbury
Rebecca, born 1823 Essendon
Mary Ann, born 1846 Essendon
James, born 1849 Essendon

I have them in 1851 at Brick Ground, Essendon.

Can't spot this family.

I have looked through the 28 images for Essendon in 1861 and haven't seen any of them

Can't spot them anywhere else, either

Also had a look on 1871 and still can't see any sign

Wonder if they emigrated

Perhaps someone else will have better luck

There is a family tree on Ancestry which lists William Fletcher marrying Rebecca Pearman in 1846 and it lists these children


Mary Ann Fletcher (Born: 1846)
James Fletcher (Born: 1849)
Ellen Fletcher (Born: 1852)

All born Essendon

The owner's name is mikegrounsell but he doesn't have any other information

Thank you for having a look for me.  Unfortunately I am not with Ancestry so cannot see what mikegrounsell has.  I have looked for the children in 1881, including Ellen but have found nothing.  As there does not appear to be any deaths between 51 and 61 they may well have moved to Scotland or abroad.

I have several 1861 indexes and I'm afraid that I cannot find them either. Sad

Thanks for trying for me Rick.  I did get their marriage from the Essendon parish records but had forgotten to make a note of his father so that was helpful.    I thought perhaps I might find some siblings, which I did, but not in the 1881 census.  I do have quite a bit on Rebecca's son, before her marriage to William Fletcher, so will content myself with that.
