Hi!
I believe I've said it before - Gee! There's an awful lot of people out there with an interest in the Hepburns of Fife and their connections.
Let me specifically address Dorothy C first, because, there's no doubt that her family members are connected with mine. A part of her Family Tree needs to have a bit more detail added to it, and I'm pleased to assist her in doing that.
I am already indebted to the work carried out by Norrie G, and maybe, in some small way, I can add to his records by releasing some of the answers that have not yet been posted on RootsChat. He may find some rich pickings around Colinsburgh in Fife.
Let me take all researchers of the Hepburn family to an area of Fife, that I don't think that I've mentioned to Norrie G or Dorothy C. That area is, indeed, Colinsburgh, which is about 15 miles away from Leslie, as the crow flies. It is here, in the year 1881 that we find the Census being taken:
Dwelling: Colinsburgh. Census Place : Kilconquhar. Source: FHL Film 0203524. GRO Ref. Vol. 436. Enum. Dist. 5 Page: 12
William BRAID Head Occupation: Master Baker, employing 5 men and 3 boys and Farmer of 15 acres. His birthplace is given as Markinch in Fife. His age is given as 67, meaning that his birthdate would have been around 1814.
Janet ....... his wife, Aged 62, meaning that her birthdate would have been around 1819. I was most interested to see that she had been born at Freuchie, a village that I know very well indeed.
William BRAID his son, his occupation, a baker, unmarried aged 28 who had been born at Colinsburgh about 1853.
Mary BRAID, his daughter, aged 26 and unmarried.
Then there is a list of employee's of William BRAID:
Alexander LAING, Baker and Van Driver. Charles Morrison, an apprentice baker. William Munro, an apprentice baker. William Tulley, an apprentice baker. Margaret (Maggie) Hay, a Domestic Servant.
I will return to the BRAID family in future postings.
My very best wishes, as always,
Tom.

Hi!,
Isn't it great to see DDJJake back again. Here's another member of a small team of researchers who is always ready to stretch out a friendly helping hand to help anybody.
I'm happy to add to the information that Norrie G released to us a short time ago, and brings us a step forward towards the present day, i.e. the year 1881.
1881 Census.
Dwelling: 83 Links Streeet, Census Place: Abbotshall, Fife. Source: FHL Film 0203527 GRO Ref: Vol 442 Enum Dist: 28 Page 1.
Agnes HEPBURN Head Widow Age 56 Newsagent & Stationer b. Abbotshall Rachel HEPBURN Dau Unmarr. " 20 b. Abbotshall Isabella HEPBURN Dau Unmarr " 18 b. Abbotshall Margaret HEPBURN Dau Unmarr " 15 b. Abbotshall
From my previous posting, other researchers will realise that the above Agnes HEPBURN is the Agnes Dall who married William Hepburn on the 2nd January, 1848 at Abbotshall. That marriage info can be found on Batch No: M113998 Dates: 1820-1855 Source Call No: 0993525.
Again, very many thanks, Norrie, for your kindness.
My very best regards to all,
Tom.
