Names tally but dad doesnt know addressess as they would be his grandparents and he came to England as a child. Elizabeth was his mother. Only remembers Grassbank Machie Bay Bute. Also have John McAulay age 48 in his year of marriage to my gran Elizabeth Annie his address was Ardescroft Helensburgh County Dumbarton parents John McAulay Farm-labourer and Mary McAulay nee McPhail both decd by 5.10.1916. I can find no record of John McAulay age 48 death would have been between 1934/36.. Dad said he died before his first birthday which would have been Feb.1934. Dad lived Grassbank with his mom Elizabeth Annie and siblings,Barbara McMillan McAulay 1918, John 1917, Mary 1924. Why cant I find his death anywhere? How do you think I could trace Barbara who remained in Scotland when the rest of the family came to England. We only know she married an Army Officer and was a beauty queen. You have given me so much help so far, do you think you could help me solve these riddles.xxxx

I think you may need to look at the scotlandspeople.gov.uk website. I've not done any searching on there myself, but I think you can buy credits to view certificates and they give much more info than English ones, parents names, other children etc
Good Luck Cat
