I have finally track down the dc of Benjamin Parkinson RIPLEY dated 19 12 1927, pod.75 Huntington Rd., York (is this the workhouse?) The informant is a R HOPE, son in law, 3 Pearts Court, North St., York. Which would mean that Ben had a daughter I didn't know about.
Can anyone help track down Ben's daughter and her marriage to R HOPE

York workhouse was on Huntington Road but I'm not sure of the number http://www.workhouses.org.uk/index.html?York/York.shtml
Just checked the 1901 census address index and no.75 is missing - couldn't find it on census pages either

Just received this piece of info. re: Huntington Rd.
'Poverty and Prostitution: A Study of Victorian Prostitutes in York' By Frances Finnegan
'In 1864, for example, Jane Saw- don, a seventeen year old diseased prostitute, was admitted to the workhouse from her establishment, by then in North Street '
Ben RIPLEY died at 22 North St. His wife Jane had 3 sons to different father's and his name is not recorded on the bcs. A fourth son Thomas remains a mystery also Ben's dc would suggest he also had an "unknown" daughter
