Recently , I heard mention of Clontarf , as part of Sydney .
Would the transportation records say if a prisoner came from Clontarf , Ireland ?
Is there any indication of how the area was named ?

Quite a few sites come up in a  Google.

If a convict came from Clontarf Ireland, yes, it is possible (at least some) records might say s/he was from there.
