6th Regiment

Hello
        I recently sent for a relatives service record, he joined the 6th Regiment of Foot in 1808
and served 11 years in the East Indies from 1825 but previous to that he did 5 years in
  The Cape of Good Hope, does anyone know where the 6th regiment were, and what were they
doing out there?.  Thank you  Regards Glyn

                Thank you for that, you have just given me the entire service of my relative as all
these countries are mentioned from Portugal to East Indies where he stayed till December 1836.
  Also I thought he might have been at Waterloo but now I know he missed it.
