1841, 1851 census look up for Drury in Darton/Barnsley/ Silkstone

Greetings all: I'm trying to find Joseph and Sarah Drury in Silkstone/Darton/Barnsley area. The Joseph and Sarah Drury that I'm hunting were married in 1797 in Silkstone and would have been in their late 50s, early 60s in 1841 and ten years older in 1851 (if my arithmetic holds true).

Please note that much of the 1851 census for Barnsley was damaged beyond usability.

I found a death for Joseph Drury in June 1851 registered in Barnsley and for Sarah Drury in June 1853 registered in Barnsley, so they may not be in any later censuses/censusi.

Thanks in advance for the help and I wish everyone a happy U.S. Independence Day. Oops, maybe the wrong place to express that sentiment.  Cry Cry Cry

I can't see where it says Silkstone on the 1841 census. Old Town in Barnsley is between Pogmoor and Wilthorpe  and is about 4 mile away from Silkstone. Regards Carol

Hi Sue and Carol: Would have answered sooner, but my computer has been misbehaving.

This Joseph Drury is a possibility. I have William Drury (born 1806) who I believe might be his son, living in Pogmoor at some point (possibly even born there, though I can't find the info on that just now).

Without Joseph Drury's supposed wife Sarah there, I'm not sure.

By the way, what is FMP?

      Yes FMP stands for Find My Past which is where i found details of the Joseph Drury

       in 1841. That was the only one i could find that seemed to fit with what you wanted.
