I agree that it's up to each person to decide whether to put their names on SIT, but if you don't put them there you may miss out on valuable information!  While I haven't yet been helped by the SIT (or Lost Cousins), I have been enormously helped by distant rellies I've found, or who have found me!  I live in hope of a valuable connection which may help to clear up my enduring mysteries!

I'd be interested to know how many Rootschatters have actually found rellies through the SIT. Probably lots.

I haven't found any rellies but thats because i don't always Contact Jones in just Cheshire.Cheshire is a big place My Jones originated from Wheelock Chester.B.4 moving on to Staffordshire forget where at the moment Undecided Grin so it would be helpful if members put where in Cheshire.I have contacted over time a few Jones in Cheshire but i have always had a reply that no my Jones came from wherever in Cheshire.Which is miles away from Chester where Grandad was born.I have also had replies with queries about all my surenames. So i know members do look in now and then,by the way it wasn't 3 i never found it was 4 the forth being Theoplus Grin

Celia

I have some Cheshire Jones myself, although mine are from Wallasey.

Not as far as I know. The Jones line from Wallasey starts with John Jones, who was born in Wallasey c1742 and married a Margaret. His son was Samuel Jones, born c1768 Wallasey who married Ester. Samuel and Ester had a daughter Mary (1799-1869) who married Aaron Whitby, who was born 1805, possibly in Tarvin. They married in St Oswalds Church, Chester.

Aaron and Mary are my 5x great grandparents.
