You can confirm John's father from the details of his marriage certificate. Did John marry Jane Topfield?

Marriages Sep 1847
BATSON  John    Wycombe  6 579
TOPFIELD  Jane     Wycombe  6 579

You can obtain a copy of the marriage certificate from the General Registry Office

http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/

John on the 1851 census was aged 28 (adult ages on the 1841 census, those over 15, were usually rounded down to the nearest 5) and confirms his birthplace as Hardwick - the 1841 census merely gives whether a person was born in or out of the county they were living in.

Hardwick baptisms are covered on the IGI (International Genealogical Index) for the period 1558-1849, but not marriages. The IGI is an index of baptisms and marriages.

There is a John Batson baptism for the right time frame with a mother Ann

JOHN BATSON
Christening:  16 JUN 1822   Hardwick, Buckingham
Father:  JOHN BATSON
Mother:  ANN

with siblings

ANN BATSON
Christening:  05 NOV 1826   Hardwick, Buckingham
Father:  JOHN BATSON
Mother:  ANN

ANN BATSON
Christening:  16 MAY 1824   Hardwick, Buckingham
Father:  JOHN BATSON
Mother:  ANN

SARAH BATSON
Christening:  05 NOV 1820   Hardwick, Buckingham
Father:  JOHN BATSON
Mother:  ANN

MARY ANN BATSON
Christening:  10 MAY 1818   Hardwick, Buckingham
Father:  JOHN BATSON
Mother:  ANN

You could request a search for John and Ann Batson's marriage on the Buckinghamshire Family History Society marriage index

Burial

You can access the National Burial Index (only a partial index) at this website

http://www.familyhistoryonline.net/

or for Buckinghamshire at the Bucks FHS website.
