O'Brien Ballybacon Cahir Clonmel

I am looking for a baptism for a John O'Brien born 1862 in Ballybacon. His parents were Michael and Bridget possibly O'Grady. There were two other sons Michael and David but I don't have dates. ANY info. on the family much appreciated. Thankyou Wendy.

Welcome to Rootschat. To find John's baptism you will need to find church records (if they exist). LDS (www.familysearch.org) have some church records on microfilm and you can check their online catalogue (under place search on library catalogue page) to see if they have the records you need.

Thankyou very much for you reply. I have looked at family search .org before but not the library pages. I have just had a look and there is a possible record that could be of use. How do I go about searching it? Do I have to go to a family record centre and order it? Thankyou .

Yes, you can order the microfilm from your local LDS library for a small fee, they will notify you when it arrives and then you can view it there.

Bru Boru Cultural Centre website - tipperarysouth.brsgenealogy.com -is showing a baptismal and birth record for a John O Brien in Cahir RC. parish in 1864. To search the index is free but to view or download record printout costs €5.
