Hi, My GGG grandfather was an Abraham Graham born 1804 in Huddersfield. I think his father was a Joseph,  he was also a stone mason but I can't find a marriage record.for Abraham  to Harriet .Or for his parents Joseph and Mary Shaw. I have now traced the family via Kirkheaton to a Richard Graham born 1684 in Dewsbury  Can anyone help with any info. this far back?  Any info. on the mason side who built a lot of Huddersfield would also be useful Thankyou Wendy.

I've looked through the baptisms for Huddersfield parish church 1799-1805 but there's only one Graham baptism - not Abraham and not with a father named Ben or Benjamin.

Unfortunately, I don't have the book which covers 1806+ so I suppose it's possible he had a late baptism.

Do you have any other information which might help tie him down? e.g. does he give Huddersfield as his birthplace on all censuses?

Thankyou for replying. The census for 1841 says about 1806  1851 abt 1804 as does 1861  whilst 1871 says abt 1805. and all say born Huddersfield.I have looked on IGI but no record. He was a big employer in Huddersfield . Thanks again Wendy.
