Hi, You may get some personal deatails if the full manifest could be located. I am not able to see anything about a ship of that name.
Perhaps others will know where better to look.
I do see a man by that name having children in the early 1900's.
And another Stephen John Beare. Sue

You asked where he may have come from... from the above website
The passenger lists are primarily for assisted passengers from the United Kingdom and Europe. Please note that this list does not include passengers from New Zealand, the Americas, Asia, Africa, other Australian ports or those passengers who paid their own fare (in a few lists there are fare paying passengers included).
You can order individual copies of the entries...details on website. Perhaps an email to the archives to establish what details are actually on the fiche.

There is a George with wife Eliza on Ancestry - Australian Electoral Rolls 1930-1936 and if you have access to these rolls, you will also see a Stephen John BEARE.
