Hi Seeking assistance solving this family please. Baptismal name: Sarah Mullett Birth Registration: 3 Sep 1867. St George in the East. Saint Mary. Middlesex, England.
In 1881 she is with John and Sarah Mullett, again as niece. John Mullett may have married Sarah Nunn in 1846 .
Sarah was brought up by her aunt and uncle. Her parents passed away as a young child. When she married witnesses were ; John and Emily Mary Mullett, (Uncle & Aunt of Sarah), James Goodwin Nunn,Mary Ann nee Bramley (her father & mother were deceased at time of her marriage). 21 years old, at time of marriage.
Trying to find where John and Emily Mary Mullett fit into the family?
Cheers Velcro

Velcro
Who did Sarah marry, when and where
Can you give us the ref for the 1881 that you have found her on,and do you have her in 1871,if so can you tell us the ref please.
Maybe she is mistranscribed and not under MULLETT?
I can't seem to make any inroads on this

Hello Velcro
Thanks for the ref numbers, however I still can't see her in 1871 with her aunt Hoping someone else can pick up on this and tell me if I'm going mad or not
Nor can I see her as a niece of John and Sarah Mullett in 1881?
I have at last seen the marriage- between Edward Thomas HAYES and Sarah Mullett NUNN - St Olave Jun 1889 ref 1a page 500.
Now I'm really confused, are you saying she was born as a Mullett but married as a Nunn?
Not sure what you mean when you say you have the 1887 census? Censuses were taken every ten years from 1841 onwards.
Maybe I need a bucket full of coffee first

Hi
Here she is in 1881
RG11/567/108/19.....Sarah Mulley Nunn
Jane
Well done Jane- I thought I was cracking up.
Okay okay
Both John and Sarah were born in Essex, but I can't see them in any other census. John's a Mariner,so maybe they were always at sea
I AM having a bad day aren't I?

Hi Sorry I have census 1871 not 1881. Info sent to me "1881 she is with John and Sarah Mullett, again as niece."
Sarah in 1871, with her aunt: RG10/630 81/16 71 Drummond Road, Bermondsey.
I can see she has taken uncle and aunts surname Mullett as an extension of her surname. She was baptised as Sarah Mullett but her father's surname was Nunn. This because her passed away when she was very young and the aunt and uncle took care of her and probably any other siblings younger than her. What I'm lost with is where do aunt and uncle John and Sarah Mullett nee unknown fit the picture?
Her father was: James Goodwin Nunn, christening 1 April 1832, St Marys, Portsea, Hampshire Parents: Robert & Mercy Nunn Mother was:Maria/Mary Bramley b. 28 May 1830 bapt 13 Sep 1830 Saint Leonards, Shoreditch, London - parents Samuel Bramley & Maria
I haven't all the records of the Bramley family to find a Sarah or full family records of the Nunn family. Parents of James Goodwin Nunn are possible :Robert Nunn and Mercy/Mary/Massee nee Payton.
Sarah Mullett is either James Goodwin Nunn's sister or Maria Bramley's sister.
When Sarah Eliza Mullett married witnesses were ; John and Emily Mary Mullett, (Uncle & Aunt of Sarah), (James Goodwin Nunn, her father & mother were deceased at time of her marriage). 21 years old, at time of marriage. Any records on their death dates and places? Confused
Any assistance is welcomed.
Cheers Velcro

She was baptised as Sarah Mullett but her father's surname was Nunn.
Her father was: James Goodwin Nunn, christening 1 April 1832, St Marys, Portsea, Hampshire Cheers Velcro
Her birth is registered as Sarah Mullet NUNN in St George in the East in Sept 1867. The ref is 1c page 407.
Nunn is her surname and the first two names are her christian names.
Jane you are on form this morning

In 1871 the rest of her family are at RG10/538 Folio 11 Page 16.
193 Cable Street,St George in the East.
James G Nunn head 39 Mariner b Portsmouth Maria Nunn wife 40 b Bethnal Green James B Nunn son 2 b St george William C Nunn 1 month b " "
They probably sent Sarah to her aunt and uncle's for the weekend to give mum a break with the new baby
Can't see a death of a James Goodwin Nunn, what makes you think he died young? Note he was also a mariner.

Hi Thank you for that unravelling.
When she married witnesses were ; John and Emily Mary Mullett, (Uncle & Aunt of Sarah), (her father & mother were deceased at time of her marriage). 21 years old, at time of marriage.
Actually it is the Mullett family I'm trying to sort. John and Emily as above and who she is with in the census. John and Sarah Mullett
Also she is registered as Sarah Mullet Nunn where is the connection I ask myself? Having a Seniors Moment! LOL!
Cheers Velcro
