Evans-L Archives.
« on: Monday 07 July 08 13:57 BST (UK) »

I am probably being a touch thick here, but how does a post land up there.

I have at last spotted my family via a Goggle search, I could hardly contain myself after many years of searching Grin, but the Email addy is dead Cry

So would the original post be on Roots Web Huh

It reads re Evans by------- and an Email addy, but my mail has been returned.

There must have been a name for the original thread, and answers to her query...I have tried searching by date, nothing. There are about 18000 threads on Root Web for Evans would it mean ploughing through all of them?

This has happened to me a couple of times - very frustrating. I turned to google ...  Grin ...

If you know the researcher's name, try putting it in quotes, along with the surname, or even the full name, also in quotes, of one of the ancestors she has researched, also adding perhaps the county, village or city where the family is from. It's a matter of trial and error as to the words you include in your search. Chances are this person may have posted on other sites and you may find another email address for her.

Others will probably have simpler, more effective methods, but this has worked for me.

Good luck.

Thanks Ruskie,

I will have a go at that when I get back home to-night. Smiley
