Hi,
Does anyone have a list of cordwainers / apprentices for c1840/1841 in Northampton please.
All help gratefully recieved.
Looking for a David Stanley.

Hi Sue

Try emailing the Northampton Museum & Art Gallery (museums at northampton.gov.uk).  They have a famous boot and shoe collection and state that they have an index of shoemakers.  See http://www.northampton.gov.uk/Museums/Collections/Boot_and_Shoe/Boot_and_Shoe.htm

nothing to do with your family .but if like me you didnt  no what cordwainer were untill i started looking for shoemakers etc. my gg/parents were in that trade 1880+.if its of any interest? check my query re :shoemakers etc interesting

im looking at bruley,[found] tebbutt, northamton,lewis  from saltry and now now down south ,barton, points ,fell and bayliss from clerkenwell, pearce from london,price,poole, yapp,  ebbw vale

Thank you, had already found that site and some others on cordwainers, even got in touch with the Northampton museum, but unfortunately, they did not have my  g g grandfather list there, even though that is where is was married and was listed as a shoe maker.
