Some years ago I viewed the marriage register of St Mary's Great Leighs.  I was only interested in the name Willis but thought the below transcriptions might be useful to others:

Hi Alison
John Alfred Ketley was my grandfather.
Don't know your interest in the Willis family.
But have good photographs of Emily John's first wife, and her sister Ellen
John's second wife.
Also a digital record of all the postcards the sisters sent to one another
whie in service.

Hi David,

Thanks for getting in touch.  I am been researching the Willis family for about 10 years now.  My late-father's mother was Dorothy Winifred Willis (b1895) - she was a cousin of Emily's.  Dorothy's father was Alfred b1852.

I visited Gt Leighs church several years ago as they still held the registers and wrote down the details of every Willis mentioned.  You have solved a puzzle of mine - the records told me that J.A. Ketley was buried with Ellen but I had no idea he had married his wife's sister.  Did Emily die young?  Do you know when?  Would love to know more for my records.  Happy to share all my info. or send you my 'tree'?
