I was wondering if it would be possible to have a NAME INTEREST BOARD for each County? This would save having to click on to each single entry submitted which just has a heading of 'Names I am interested in' etc. .
If all names were on one board (for a particular county), in alphabetical order, with the name of the person who is interested in that name it would make life much simpler wouldn't it?
Is it possible, please?

Hi Marjorie and forgive me if i am butting in, but what you want is exactly what http://www.rootsweb.com/ does. i think this site [roots chat] compliments what rootsweb does. personally i dont see the point of having One Name Boards on here at roots chat, maybe another option is for people to put their surname searches / interests in the Subject or on their Signature /profile.
Another thing that is useful for you to try too is the "Search" button on the menu at the top.
The beauty of the search button is that you can search either all of RootsChat for a particular surname (or phrase for that matter) or by whatever county you are interested in.
We won't rule out Surname Interests by county though - they may appear in RootsChat in the future.
Regards, Trystan

It would be a great idea to be able to search for a particular county to see what names are being researched, but that would miss the people that say they are researching (say) Carvers in Hull or suchlike. One way of doing this (and I realise this is a little late) might be to have a data entry form where there is a pull down menu listing counties to include the areas of interest. Multiple entries using the control key would be useful. However, this is not very useful given the number of entries already there.
I tend to look at SIT for people researching a particular name and the appropriate county board for people researching in that county though.
