Hi All,
I have some Relatives / Ancestors buried in the Yard of Holy Trinity Chapel, Danehill (built 1835) and i was going to visit to take photographs
Pretty straight forward you think .... but ......
The Holy Trinity was badly damaged by fire in 1887, i think, although definetly in the 1880's, (i have newspaper articles at home) and the widow of Mr H C Hardy of Danehurst ( a residence in Danehill) funded (or partly funded) a new church - All Saints, once this was completed in 1893 and consecrated in 1894 the remains of the Holy Trinity were demolished.
now herein lies my problem.
Clearly All Saints was not built on the site of the Holy Trinity, as it was not demolished until All Saints was in use, but, i have discovered that the War Memorial on the village green stands on the site of where the Holy Trinity once stood. The Green however, was in existence before the Holy Trinity was built and erased. Even if this is proven to be true i wouldn't expect to see gravestones dotted around the village green, does the village green encapsulate the whole site of the Holy Trinity - Chapel & Yard? and so thus i have assumed they, the gravestones, have been moved and the bodies also, and interred elsewhere
the war memorial can be seen from this photo, which was taken from All Saints circa 1955:~

any ideas where they can be found?

I don't know the answer, but it does look from some of the Danehill entries on A2A:
http://tinyurl.com/6px5p5
as though the former burial ground of Holy Trinity was not passed over to the Parish Council until 1960.
East Sussex Record Office may have more information in the listed archives.
