The IGI gives that a James URE was born 25.4.1802
in Torryburn to James Ure & Matilda Wright
how sure are you that he was born 1806

Cam, if you go on the LDS site:

www.familysearch.org

and put in James ure and date and scotland, then when details come up click on batch down the bottom.
fill in ure and will get list of children born. btw there seem to be 2 families in Torryburn - must be related. also james wife down as Magdalene not matilda.

fife death index Ure in Torryburn lists:

John ure  d. 29/11/1829 chd. s. of John Ure
----   ure       24/1/1834 chd. s, of William
------Ure        7/2/1834   "       "      "
------Ure        27/10/1835  chd. s of james
------Ure        17/3/1839  stillborn chd of Alex.
James Ure      15/6/1839 age 64 rupture colic

Helen Ure (Brownlie) july 1656 w. of Andrew
Andrew ure                 "       "    h. of Helen

if just put in Ure no place gives about 45 deaths so if you have any specific ones to check let me know.

James = Magdalene with 4 children same as LDS:
