Hi,
Although I'm quite sure that George Beveridge and Janet Wilson were the parents of James Beveridge who married Elizabeth Nielson on 15th April, 1849. I really know very little about them. How can I say that? The answer is by looking at James' Death Certificate. Indeed, there are a couple with the same names, i.e. George Beveridge and Janet Wilson, where George actually hailed from Tough in Aberdeen.
I still believe that James Beveridge's father was the George Beveridge, born 25th August, 1797 at Dalgety in Fife and his mother, Janet Wilson was born about 1799 at Halbeath - a place that has a familiar ring for me! The thing is - I can't prove which is the correct option.
I wonder if a look at the Death Details or Monumental Inscriptions for this couple would be of any assistance. If George Beveridge's father was John Beveridge from Habbeshole, Dalgety and his mother was Grissel (Grace) Beveridge, also from Dalgety, then the names of their children may - just MAY, give me a clue.
I would appreciate any assistance.
Kind regards as always.
Tom.

Hello Diddy,
It's early morning here in Melbourne and the head is still a little bit "muzzy", so when I look at the details about Grissel (Grace) Beveridge, I see a date for her death as 18th October, 1839. Since I believe that she was born 11th October1764 at Dalgety, that would mean that she was about 75 when she died. Have I got that right? Any details about her husband, John Beveridge, etc?
Once again, you've done a great piece of work, and I do appreciate your efforts. I will need a bit of time to digest the other parts of your posting.
My very best wishes to you.
Tom.

Hi Diddy,
Thanks for that info, I will work on it to the best of my ability. That CD may be a bit basic, but it certainly does help to pin down individuals that we are researching. If it isn't too much trouble, lass, yes, I wouldn't mind a print-out from you.
My very best wishes, as always.
Tom.
