archibald mcindoe sligo....help!
« on: Tuesday 02 May 06 10:59 UTC (UK) »

Hi!

I am looking for any info re Archibald McIndoe who settled from Scotland in Sligo.

He was a poulterer and had a son James who came to Australia and worked in Adeliade.

Thanks for any help or ideas.

Thanks Ticker,

Yes Archibald McIndoe was born in 1854. he married Christina Chisholm on 13.11.1874.
We know he had a son James McIndoe who later went To live in Australia.

That's really all we know.

Hi Doug

Have you had a look at all the usual general resources I tend to suggest?  Wink

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,83852.0.html

You could also look at these Sligo specific sites which may help.

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,127748.0.html

Perhaps you would like to have a look at these resources to see if there is anything that might help you.

Please come back with any further queries or to let us know how you get on.

Best wishes

Hi all.......

Still no luck in finding my Macindoes/mcindoes anywhere.  We know they moved to Ireland from Scotland probably about 1780's 1790's 1800's but not sure which part of Sligo.

Some were ships' chandlers........there were descendants because some moved to Australia!!

If anyone could do any look ups for macindoes to give us a start this would be REALLY appreciated!
