I have for many years have a truncated Tree on GR.

Since we have become security conscious, it has been edited to limit the information after 1900.

Recently I put a couple of names on Ancestry (prior to and up to the late 1800's)

Many of my GR contacts have still have data to the present day.These seem to fall into 2 categories..The grannies who cannot resist entering their children and Grand children.
But I have access to three trees where the husband gives what amounts to a CV/and intimate details! Incredible . Total educational/Work details for themselves and their wives.

Two classics.. Father and mother co Directors in Family business , religious affiliations and all children given same affiliation(lapsed!!) Obviously Dad isn.t happy with that!

Latest one gives CV and birth weights of grandchildren, one was premature and delivered by Cesarean! No I did Not wish to know that!

Today I entered a couple of 1800 ancestors in Ancestry . Took a look at the hint for Public trees , and yes you've guessed it,once again ,the profile for the owner is another CV. masses of information .

Is this an ego thing,or are they just plain stupid?

Idiotic,in this day of ID theft it's stupid to put to much info on.I have a mimiumn of info on the net trees.All the personal details are on my flash drive and in a folder with the printed copy.

I've taken my tree off GR, and I won't be renewing.  The site gets worse by the day.
