I do appreciate that but still find it so frustrating when town counciils decide to make it virtually impossible for people in motor homes to park. The same applies in many towns throughout the UK, including some which claim to base their economy on tourism. An odd way of going about it, I think.

I would imagine a site like the ERO car park would be a Godsend to the Travellers, a good firm base to set up their caravan on, plenty of room to accommodate their scrap metal heaps and even nearby running water (Chelmer).
On my visits to the UK I've heard a lot about Travellers (and seen them) and always assumed Traveller was "politically correct" terminology for the non Romany type. I was just wondering if the word Traveller has replaced the term used when I lived in the UK, Diddicoy.
