I'm sure there are better boards to try for Munster Ireland than Bedfordshire. The Beds ones are not online

I have a copy of the BHRS vol 71 Bedfordshire Muster Lists 1539 - 1831 by Nigel Lutt of BLARS, which includes the 1803 National Defence Volunteers.

If you have a name you want looking up let me know.

I suspect the lists are not online.

whdsn -    rather than send me a PM I feel you should post your requirement as a reply to the topic, then everyone has a chance to see & help.

In your PM you said you were looking for the name Edward hodson from yelden, i think the name could be spelt hodsell, should say 3 children under the age of 10yrs.

Just looked via the index & there is no Edward Hodson - other Hodsons are listed in Felmersham & Odell.

However on the Yeilden list is an Edw Haston, Laberour, class 4 with 3 children under 10. Could be him.

The spellings in the list are a bit not right, for example we have Charmblin for Chamberlain and Waxstaff for Wagstaff & he is a Publickhin  !

regards John

morning Shane,

not sure about your spelling,  but.....

.....there is a John Reynolds, shepherd, age 27, class 1

Class 1 is men between 17 - 30, unmarried, no children living under 10 years

The records for 1803 are held at BLARS, but won't add to what John has given you. The household schedules only required Name, Description ie occupation, Age, Married or single, Number of children under 10, and Remarks, and these were then transribed onto Constables Lists, which simply list Name, Description, Age, Class, Remarks. Very few household schedules have survived, so the majority of the transcripts in the book are taken from Constables Lists.

I'll send you a PM with more information
