Topic: How long do New Replies to Your Posts keep appearing? (Read 810 times)

Can someone please tell me how long New Replies to Your Posts keep coming onto your pc when logging onto RC? I have a huge long list with some dating back tpo June 15 still listed for me.
Of course one could go to each post and say not to notfy etc but that would take forever and I don't have time of patience to do that individually for what has now become a very long list.
Puts me off replying a bit...
So is there a set time after which they won't appear meaning they'll progressively disappear if I don't keep replying to them?

where I have explained the differences between Messages, e-mail-notifications and other types of notifications on RootsChat.
Summing up, you can't remove items from the Show new replies to your posts. list. Just read them briefly and they will disappear from that list.
(I use a tabbed browser, so by opening them in a new tab, I can delete them almost immediately, as soon as the tab is created, if I know I don't want to read them.

Bob, Thanks for your reply. I just feel it would take me hours to open the total accumulation. And if some other person replies after I've read one won't I then get aother notification?
If I went to my profile and unticked the notify, then shut down my pc, when I restarted it and came to RC would that eliminate the accumulation?

No Shaun I don't go there directly on opening RC.. It's just that the long list is there and keeps growing... I guess the thing is just not to click onto the link and leave it closed... and growing in length by the day

Clicking on "notify", whether on the topic, or in your profile
only affects the e-mail notification and nothing else !!
If there are topics in Show new replies to your posts. that are rarely replied to, then clicking on them will cause them to be deleted from this list.
If they are topics with constant "traffic" (TOT Chat topics, for instance) then they will constantly re-appear. Although if you click on any (now) locked topics, they will then also disappear, as nobody can add any new replies there.

I just click on new replies to your posts, then, if I am not interested, I just click on each one and then on new replies again. Even with hundreds it would take just a few minutes - then they disappear!
New tab would make it a bit slower, I think!
