Baptism of JOHN GIBSON c1728
« on: Sunday 13 July 08 16:16 UTC (UK) »

Prior to my next trip to Nothampton Record Office, can anyone help with the baptism of John Gibson c1728 possibly in or around Deene?  Per the IGI entries, I have eliminated the one bp Mar 1729 in Stamford Baron St Martin (he marries later to the "wrong" woman) and the one bp in Kettering in Sep 1734 who is too young for the known marriage

Thanks for your help.
When John Gibson married at Wilbarston, he was stated to be from Deene.  My wife & I spent hours at Northampton RO searching the Parish Registers of Deene & the surrounding parishes without success.  This family certainly moved around the area North East of Northampton!

Do the records you have give John Gibson's parents (I would guess, just the father at this time)?

Following info from Wayne (whdsn) who found 3 John Gibsons from about the right time - but unfortunately probably the wrong place, I looked at the IGI.  There I found the marriage of a John Gibson to Elizabeth Chapman 9 May 1725 at Cottingham which is close to Wilbarston where John jnr married, so it is quite possible that they are my John's parents.  I also found the baptisms of Mary 19 Jun 1728 & Elizabeth 7 Jan 1732 at Cottingham who could be my John's sisters.
I would appreciate any help from anyone with an interest in this area, otherwise it looks like another trip to the Northampton RO
