James Abrams Stoke Newington
« on: Sunday 13 July 08 21:21 BST (UK) »

I am trying to  trace  a James Abrams who is recorded as a spiritualist on his daughters marriage certificate in1842
There is some family talk of a  refugee polish Jew. I do not know where this originated so may be false.

His daughter was Harriett Abrams born about 1812 in Tottenham and shown living in Hight Street with the John Workman family and recorded as a British Teacher in 1841 census age 25 so 1816 could be more accurate.
it is possible her father was not in the country but I would like to trace her father and mother if possible.
Any ideas gratefully received.

Hi, Perhaps that was not his day job?

Have found only one James Abrams/ and one Abrahams old enough to be her father.

James Abrams Porter aged 55 Green St. Holborn  not born in the county  670/10

James Abrahams 55 Customs Officer Mile End Terrace M.E.O.T not born in the county  713/11/24
