Devon look up Elizabeth GOODWIN
« on: Monday 14 July 08 11:49 BST (UK) »

Can anyone tell me if they have an Elizabeth Goodwin, in their tree.  I am trying to find her parents names.  She was born around 1807, Plymouth, Devon.  She was married in 1833 to Samuel Cook, from Cornwall.
I am stuck on him, so decided to look for her parents, without much luck at the moment!!!
I would appreciate any help.  Thanks

1851 census for Plymouth, St Andrew, Devon has the following record:

Samuel Cook 45 yrs - Artist - born Camelford, Cornwall
Elizabeth Cook - wife - 44 years - born Plymouth, Devonshire
Samuel  Cook - son - 17 years  - Artist - born Plymouth, Devonshire
William Cook - son - 11 years - Scholar - born Plymouth, Devonshire

IGI has the following record:

Samuel Cook christened 19 April 1807 - Lanteglos by Camelford, Cornwall
Mother - Susanna Cook
No details of father recorded  on IGI

If you think you have a connection to the above, on www.curiousfox.org.uk someone has posted a message asking for anyone who is researching the above family to contact them via that website. Then again you may be the one who posted that message. If not, do a search for the village of Camelford on that website and you will find this message.

Hope it helps

It is so nice of you to spend your time in helping, but I do have all that information, and I AM the same person that posted that thread, on Curious Fox.
It is just that it does get so difficult with the name 'Cook' that I try everywhere.
I have loads of stuff onSamuel, even his baptism record but it only states his mother's name, but as there are two, at least, with his mother's name, of Susannah, around the same age from the same place that makes it just as hard.
Thanks again.
