If someone has access to the baptismal records for Yarpole, I would be very grateful for a look-up.
The person I am interested in is JAMES BEVAN (or Beavan) whose birthplace is recorded in the censuses of 1851 and 1861 as Yarpole, Herefordshire. 1851 records his age as 52; his age at death in 1864 was recorded as 64: given that such ages are not always accurate that would place his birth between 1798 and 1800. On the certificate of his second marriage (in 1838) he names his father as John Bevan, baker, though there is a possibility that he was illegitimate and that the father's name is a face-saving fiction.
