Hi Lynne,

Cornwall Census is free online. I can see Samuel and family at Barcelona in Pelynt in 1841  Wink

Hi kris, thanks I have been on ancestry trying to find this for weeks now ,so samuel was a shoe maker then ,I wonder how he managed having acres of land and a farm in later census ,
lynnej
added think i might have a clue next to samuel is the jago family farmers and samuels dad was daniel rundle who married elizabeth white a widow
wittnesses were william jago, family seem to think elizabeth white was elizabeth jago at some point

Hi Lynne,

possible George WHITE = Elizabeth JAGO 21 Sep 1795 Liskeard

I note a child George was baptised to a George and Elizabeth White 24 May 1801 Pelynt - maybe  Undecided

Hi Kris, can I ask you where you found this info on liskeard ,I have been looking for a possible marriage for a elizabeth jago and a white but came up with nothing ,I think this could be the link why family did think daniel rundle married elizabeth jago ,on daniels rundles marriage to elizabeth in pelynt it says otp sojourner does this mean he was not born in pelynt ,

Hi Lynne,

The entry appears in the Cornwall Marriage Index. You can order a copy of the record from the CRO

http://www.cornwall.gov.uk/index.cfm?articleid=38210

A Sojourner is a short term resident (usually just long enough for banns to be read - 3 weeks)

Lynne,

Do we have an idea of Elizabeth's age? I see an Elizabeth Jago was baptised in Pelynt 16 Jun 1767 to William and Rachel. William and Rachel had a son William baptised 23 Oct 1769 in Pelynt

William JAGO = Rachel EDGECUMBE 24 JUN 1766 Talland

Hi Kris ,thats the problem I have not got a clue how old daniel rundle or elizabeth jago were, or when they died I have been trying to find them on the census ,I did find in 1841 an elizabeth rundle age abt 75 living in cornwall but she was a servant and there could be a few elizabeth rundles I wish they would put ages on marriages in the early days It would make It a lot easier ,It did say on her marriage to daniel otp ,do you think if I look for a death of daniel rundle It might give his age, I had been told by some else who is also researching the rundles that he died in 1827

Hi Kris , the info I got on daniel was from someone who actually went to cornwall and had a look through parish records but he ran out of time while he was there ,so he did not have daniels age at death ,thank you so much for the information and taking the time and trouble helping me,I am doing a lot of research In durham records office where my grandad william rundle was born ,but cornwall is a long way for me to travel,If the 1841 census Is right for elizabeth that would be about 1769 so could be a right match ,and daniel would be abt 1760 so he would be abt 44 when married

hi ,can anyone give me advice on what they think of this please ,just found a possible death for a george white who may have been married to elizabeth jago in 1795 if she was a widow when she married daniel rundle in 1804
burial index pelynt george white date 4th august 1801 It has no age on family history on line but seems to fit in with dates when she remarried

Hi Lynne,

Bit hard to say with no age given.  Undecided Unfortunately a lot of burials are like that pre 1813 when the forms arrive. The son was born before this date in Penynt. (even before the forms an entry for a child often will say son of......) As you say with the 1804 marriage it does seem to fit. Wonder if the son can be spotted in the census.

Good one Lynne,

I hadn't had a chance to look for him.  I would certainly agree this is him, so that is excellent news. It now seems pretty certain the burial you have is the dad.  Grin - in Pelynt where son was born just a few months earlier and where Elizabeth remarried.............Kris  Cheesy

Hi Kris, at least I am having some luck with  part of the rundle family ,that solves the part where one relation said they thought elizabeths maiden name was jago
