Dowds in Derbyshire...again!!

Anyone help me with this?
I have an Edward Dowd born c1847 in Derbyshire.However, I can't  find him in the 1851 census.

Yes CaroleW. I sort of  know what happened 1881 onwards but it's the years between 1847(born in Derby to Irish parents) and 1881 I'm stuck on. Could they have gone 'home'?

Hi Dowdy

I had a quick look on the 1841 for Derbyshire, but couldn't see them, but they may have been elsewhere in the country, or still in Ireland. As for access to the records you may have to join  Ancestry or another company that do's the census records, which are all pay per view sites. Or  your local library may have access to one of them. If they were in Ireland you may have to put a request on the Ireland look up board.
