I have a Robert Gall born 11 August 1810 in Crawfordjohn and have found him working at Netherhill Stable as an Agricultural Laborer in 1841 but have been unable to find him after that, though I found his death 5 May 1873.

I would like to know where he was in the intervening years and if he ever got married.

In 1851 he is still in Crawfordjohn and is transcribed as GALE.  Unmarried and a farm labourer

Thanks for your help Carole will look harder in 1861 to try and find him and can now rule out any marriage or children

I thought this might interest you.  MI from Crawfordjohn Churchyard

Erected by (Michael( and Robert Gall in memory of their mother Janet Young who died 29th Mar 1821 age 39 yr, their father William Gall died 4 Mar 1852 age 76 yr. John their brother died 14 Apr 1830 age 7yr, Agnes Dodds their mother in law died 17 Jan 1861 age 67 yr. The above Robert Gall died 5 May 1873 age 67 yr. Richard Stevenson their brother in law died 13 May 1900 age 75 yr also Elizabeth Gall his wife died 13 Apr 1905 age 75 yr.
On back, John son of said Richard Stevenson and Elizabeth Gall died 9 May 1935 age 70 yr, their daughter Ann B Stevenson died 28 Mar 1947 age 81 yr

I think Agnes Dodds was their step mother.

This looks like it could be William Gall's marriage to Agnes Dodds

Hi Capricorn

You have made my day as that MI is a blessing and new person Micheal Gall who I did not have and now will try and find.

I have all the people on the MI and now can fill in missing information.

William Gall did marry Agnes Dodds and he had another 6 children by her including my GG Grandfather Andrew Gall giving him a total of 11 children. (12 now including Micheal Gall)

There is an error in the MI for Crawfordjohn quoted in previous post.
I have seen the headstone (and have a direct transcription and photo omy own somewhere) and it does not say "erected by Michael". i have a book of cfj kirkyard inscriptions which seems to be the source of the error.

This info should save you a lot of unnecessary search time!
