William Gall born abt 1850 in Douglas last recorded staying with his Aunt Cecilia Gall at 3 Sword Street, Glasgow St John, occupation Joiner in the 1871 Census. I have been unable to find any further information on him.

Parents were James Gall and Ann Young

VRI FHL Film 1066589

These parents also had

Isabella Born  27 August 1846 Christened 27 September 1846 (amended)

Alexander Born 21 September 1854 Christened 15 October 1854

Thanks Sue for your help I found him in 1901 going up market as the Curator at the Glasgow Institute of Fine Arts (Good chance of getting a picture of him). Now I only need the 1881 Census to finish him off.  Smiley

Thanks Frances right family I could not find William's dob or christening though I did find the birth for Isabella on IGI but they have the 27 of September and I think that I will trust you rather than them  Tongue

I found the birth of a Miss Gall on the 12th of April 1857 in Douglas to James Gall and Ann Young on IGI but found no other information on her  Huh

Hi Ian,
According to the Douglas parish burial book -
Alexander Gall, abode Douglas, died of consumption aged 9 months and was buried 30th Oct 1853. No parents names on this one, sorry.
