Hi all
I'm new to Scottish research but thanks to the kind help of genjen I have found a marriage on SP which took place June 1840 at the Shiprow Chapel, Old Machar Aberdeen. The marriage was by Hugh Hart Preacher All the other marriages on the page were by Reverends. Would this mean that they were non conformists? I have not been able to find a baptism for the bride who had the fairly unusual name of Jane SOUPER. Does anyone know anything about the records of this Shiprow Chapel? I've tried googling but all I get is information about the Maritime Museum located on Shiprow.
Any help much appreciated.

Hi Heather,
I've found 2 references to what I think could have been the Chapel in the Shiprow...

The Ordnance survey map of 1865-7 shows the area. Click on the lower right area, above the Upper dock (one of the blue bits!) Zoom in and pan up above Trinity Quay and you should be able to see the Shiprow and the Church

Hope this helps a little Elaine

Hi Elaine
It helps a lot! Thank you very much for taking the trouble to find those references for me. I must start using Google book search for research. Very interesting. I'm going to have to read up on Dissenting or the Disruption of the Church in 1843.
