I am trying to find the Birth of my 5x great grandfather Thomas Joy, all I know is that he married Elizabeth Chambers on 22 Oct 1756 in Headcorn, Kent.
Can anyone help please.

The witnesses to the marriage, in case you don't have them, were John Joy & Thos Chambers.
There's only one Baptism in Headcorn for a Thomas Joy before 1756.
23rd Aug 1724 son of Thomas & Virgin
One other child for this couple, John 21st Aug 1720.
An unusual first name for the mother, I wonder if it was short for Virginia?

Thank you for the info, Could I ask you, have you got a date of marriage for his parents Thomas and Virgin and her surname, all I can find is about 1719 from headcorn and there witness if possible.

No sigh of the Marriage in Headcorn I'm afraid.
I've found this Burial, in Headcorn, if that's any use:
Virgin Joy, Burial 15th May 1770

Added: I've checked Headcorn Baptisms for a first name Virgin (& names beginning Virgin..) there's nothing there, so it's likely she came from another Parish.

The information I have about the marriage is as follows:
Licence issued at Maidstone 31 Nov 1719 for the marriage of Thomas Joy of Headcorn to Virgin Southerden dau of John Southerden.
Also Virgin was bap 17 Novenmber 1690 at Headcorn.
I have a record of 2 children of Thomas and Virgin.
John bap 21 Aug 1720 at Headcorn ( he married Ann and had 7 children).
Thomas bap 23 Aug 1723 - possibly married Elizabeth and had 4 children.

Thank you for all this help all we got to do now is find out when Thomas was born the one that married Virgin. Barbara Thomas and Elizabeth had 8 children in all 4 from Headcorn and the other 4 are from Nettlestead that were my 4x great grandfather from then move to hadlow.
