Unfortunately that birth is a member sumission and the submitter didn't have a clue as to where Robert was from or when he was baptised. He was merely working backwards, probably from the baptism of one of the children, and guessing.
Member submissions with "about" and a year are usually worthless. All member submissions should be taken with a large helping of salt until checked with a parish register

There's no marriage on Hunts Marriage Index, which hopefully narrows your search down to Northants. Have you tried a specific lookup request for the Northants Marriage Index on that board?
There's an extracted marriage on the IGI in 1771 at Kingscliffe Northants with Elizabeth Richardson, and despite Kingscliffe baptisms being extracted onto the IGI there are none to Robert & Elizabeth. Whilst Kingscliffe is a bit of a hike from Bletsoe it might be worth looking a bit closer at that marriage
Just in case you don't have it, there's a burial of a Robert Bailey at Bletsoe on 19 Dec 1802, but there are two Elizabeth burials - 19 Jan 1795 and 19 Jan 1810

As always, thank you, David, for your keen insights and suggestions. I have looked at that Kings Cliffe marriage entry many times. It almost fits but not quite. Some family trees posted on the Net say that particular Robert died in 1812, but I must inquire further as to the source of that information. I am quite sure that Elizabeth Bailey, the wife of Robert, recorded in the Bletsoe PR is the later burial entry and not the 1795 death.
These people were agricultural labourers. I am not sure how far afield -- forgive the pun -- they travelled in search of work. Any idea?
Regards, David

There's a site with Kingscliffe Bailey PR entries extracted at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~maureenbryson/id60.htm which would appear to rule out the 1771 marriage being the couple in Bletsoe.
Back to Northants Marriage Index!

I agree that it looks doubtful if the Robert Bailey and Elizabeth Richardson married in 1771 are the couple who appear a few later in Bletsoe, but to be certain (as much as one can be in this business) I would like someone with access to the Kings Cliffe PR to check if: 1) any children were born to this union; 2) is there a burial record for Elizabeth between 1771 and 1792; and 3) does the burial record for Robert (1812) by any chance give his age. Although a long shot, I want to rule out there being two Roberts, i.e., the Robert who marries Elizabeth Richardson in 1771 is not same person who marries Elizabeth Butterworth in 1792.
Is that going too far, maybe?
