Hannah PRIDE Closed. Many Thanks
« on: Saturday 19 July 08 15:04 BST (UK) »

Hannah Pride married Samuel Strange July/ August 1763 - Tormarton, Glos/ Box, Wilts. Phillamores does not list the date  for Glos, so Box is more possible. Please can someone confirm the date and place of marriage and possibly the birth date as well for Hannah. Many Thanks MIK.

Just to add a bit more from Box..............

Samuel Strange was shown as living in West Littleton (Somerset) in his marriage record.

Hannah, Abraham and Margaret Pride were children of William and Abigail who were not married in Box but were buried there
10 Jul 1758 William Pride
12 Jan 1762 Abigail Pride.

Dave. Many Thanks for the additional info. On todays map there is only one West Littleton, just south of the M4, a lot of 18th century info has Glouscestershire, Wiltshire and Somerset listed together and I doubt in those days that they were as aware of county bounderies as today. What I find amazing is the number of marriages from places far apart with the slow transport of the day, a night out with the intended took a couple of days to complete. Once again thanks for the info. MIK.
