Can anyone look up William Eyres in the 1841-51 Census. He would have been about 7 years old in '41 and 17 in '51 possibly living in Amesbury and maybe son of a butcher/tradesman? In 1861 he was married to Betsey (married 1858), with one child Bessie (age 2)- he is a butcher, working in Amesbury. Which leads me to believe that maybe he worked in the family business, but this might not be the case - was he born in Amesbury 1833-34?
Also if you can find him in the '71 Census to find out if he had any more children and was he still working/living in the area?
Much thanks for any help Bantman

Having trouble identifying them in 1841, I searched the 1861 and Philip's age is different. Maybe 1851 should read 56 instead of 36 ...
1861 RG9/1311 67 21 Amesbury, Wiltshire Philip Eyres, 66, Dairyman, b. Amesbury Jane, wife, 57, b. Woodborough Alfred, son, 14, assistant, b. Amesbury + a dairy maid

Many Thanks for this Tati
I know it all looks strange and sum what complicated but it does all fit this story.
Perhaps Jane was married already to an Eyres then widowed and re-married Thus keeping the same name.
I have seen something in my records an Eyres marrying an Eyres as stange as that seems so I,m just off to check it
Thanks Again
