He may have married as just plain Arthur Turner . Also he could have moved anywhere once his family left the country.
Unhelpful maybe BUT true.
Some times we read the post but do not reply because we simply cannot help. As David says sometimes buying the cert is the only way forward. YES it can be expensive so why not ask the decendant to by the cert. I have helped friends with their trees for nothing but they buy the certs. If he is that keen to find relatives.
Also as David's reply was the only one I also find the comment rude.

Kas
I have to agree with Tazzie, sometimes we read a post and spend 30 mins or more looking for an answer, but sometimes it just isn't there
The reason I linked the two together, was so people didn't post to both at the same time and valuable info would either be lost or duplicated if we mised it. Not everyone reads ALL the boards,so someone may reply to one but not the other and it may just be the chink we need to move you forward.
Turner is a very common surname ,and for the time span you are looking for ie after 1916 ish the GRO indexes do not show a second name, only initials.
Bedfordshire Boy tried his best to help, how can you say he was being unhelpful?

im sorry im just a little frustrated as i keep getting dead ends. Kas
Unfortunately Kas,that's what family history is all about-dead ends
I've been doing mine for about 15 years and still haven't got very far on a few of my lines.
I'm now retired and don't have a lot of money to spend, but certain certificates I just HAVEto buy to prove that I'm going back through the right line.In fact sometimes the info on a cert can provide just that one piece of proof you need to put the whole jigsaw together.
My maiden name was Rogers and there are just tooooo many of them out there. I'm pinning all my hopes on the 1911 census and can't wait till Jan 2009.

shame on you Kas
We all have bad weeks and varying levels of budgets.
How dare you “abuse” the very people you are asking to help you for NOTHING.
It’s bad enough to do a lot of research for a stranger and not get even a “thank you” but to see comments like “the first one was ignored by everyone except for unhelpful comments” makes me wonder why we bother.
Just looking at the home page of the Buckinghamshire Board I see the are MANY posts started by you (with replies), so be grateful for all the FREE help you have received.
Bren.

the reason i had to post this request twice was because the first one was ignored by everyone except for unhelpful comments. kas
In actual fact you can see it wasn't ignored, as the number of times people have looked at each posting is at the top of the page
"Topic: help with arthur charles turner please (Read 70 times) "
So that's 70 people who have looked an maybe half or even more have tried to help.
Something to think about there Kas.

Another idea - Do you know when dad, Jesse died? getting a will might help give a clue as to what happened to son Arthur Charles.
