that's what it is allabout - trying to find out what you dont already know!!

Have you got the census references for Arthur and family in 1891 and 1901 before Jesse and co emigrated.
i have just spent ages looking and cant find them. With a large sense of deja-vu as  I did exactly the same when I read your first request some time ago.

There are a lot of them! Have you followed all the siblings in Canada to see if Arthur turns up as a witness at a wedding, or in a will, or anywhere else?

The only one I can find proof of in Canada is George Frederick .
His WW1 papers are online and he states his next of kin as Mrs E T Turner of Nova Scotia.

However I can't see any of the rest of the family in the 1911 census.

Nor can I see any of them leaving the UK on the ships lists.  Roll Eyes

Presume you have records of more of them out there?

I've been looking for them in 1891 too,but seeing that some of the kids were born in India, that's where they must have been then  Roll Eyes

1871
RG10 1683 6 5
st Botolphs Street Colchester
George Lucking 35 Carman to 'Pickfords' bn Prittlewell
Hannah 36 bn Southend
arthur George 9 bn Springfield
Edith 8 bn Colchester
Julia 6  "
John 3  "
Emma 1   "

and her birth:
Oct/Nov/Dec 1862
Colchester reg distr
ref 4a 254

Edith Lucking

so she never had a middle initial 'T' before that reference to Frederick's WWI papers - with such a common name as Turner it does make you wonder if that Fred is the same as this Fred..

What a shame the kids names and Dob's are so smudged.
Will look at the Ottawa records now-as it would seem as though that was his intended place of emigration.

Although I fear it may not give us any new clues as to where Arthur went.

Maybe he just stayed in the UK???
