Benefice of Swan

The church of St.Mary the Virgin in Marsh Gibbon, Bucks is said to be 'in the Benefice of Swan'.  Is anyone able to explain what the 'Swan' refers to please?

My gggrandfather was born in Marsh Gibbon and in the 1851 census his wife is said to have been born in 'Swan' Montgomeryshire.  There is no 'Swan' in Montgomeryshire, and it was suggested to me that this should have read 'Sarn'.  However, I'm now wondering whether it has anything to do with the Benefice of Swan, which this church appears to be part of.
Would appreciate any suggestions.  Thanks.
