I have found evidence that John Child was married to a Jane Morice, the only information I have on him is that he died and his will was read out on  11 AUG 1673   Freystrop, Pembroke, Wales
This is the only marriage that I can find between a John Child and a Jane.

The only marriage between a Thomas Child and Lloyd is an Elizabeth Lloyd  10 MAY 1829   Amroth, Pembroke, Wales

There is two marriages for William Child and a Jane one in 1736 and one in 1761 so do not know which one is correct with an age

Can't find any marriage info for Charles

Cant find anything for William Wright

Without dates im just guessing. sorry

Apparently one of Sarah CHILD's family was a Mayor of Tenby?

I have not found any proof of this yet?

On the basis of working from what you know and what can be proved, I can find Sarah in a few census entries

1841 Milford 3rd Street, parish of Steynton HO107/1449/22 folio 51 pg 13
Sarah Wright 35 something's wife crossed out
Eliza 17
Catherine 13
John 15 shipb ap
Maria 6
Charles 4
Ann 1
all born in county

1861 7 Clyde Terrace, Limehouse, Middlesex RG9/289 folio 128 pg 36
Lewis Williams head mar 33 sailmaker b. South Wales, Pembrokeshire
Catherine wife 32 b. Pembrokeshire
George son 9 b. Pembrokeshire
James son 3 b. Middlesex, Limehouse
Kate dau 10 months b. Limehouse
Sarah Wright mother-in-law widow 57 fundholder b. Pembrokeshire
plus a boarder

1871 Burdett Road, Mile End Old Town, London RG10/561 folio 160 pg 46
William Wright head mar 35 b. Pembrokeshire, Milford
Jane N wife 30 b. Middlesex, Poplar
Sarah mother widow 65 b. Pembrokeshire, Neyland
Martha George unm sister-in-law 38 b. pembs, Neyland
Elizabeth Woolford 22 general domestic servant b. Middx, London

Sarah's baptism appears on the IGI in batch C081191 for Llanstadwell as Sarah Charles baptised 30/7/1803 daughter of Charles Child & Ann.
Pre 1813 in Wales, the IGI assumes a patronymic naming system even in areas where the system had long died out and makes things even more challenging!  Roll Eyes

In the same batch, there are also baptisms for James bp 23/6/1811, Catherine bp 3/8/1806, and George bp 5/9/1813 to the same parents.

Neyland and Hazelbeach are in the parish of Llanstadwell. If you want copies of the parish records, you can get them from the record office in Haverfordwest -  you can get copies if you know the date and church, otherwise you may have to pay the research fee.

Birth registration for Ann Wright which would confirm Sarah's maiden name

Amanda

Have you seen this site there is a child listed on there http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/wal/PEM/Tenby/Pigot1844.html

Later on I am going to Tenby cemetary as my father is buried there I will have a look if there are any old headstones with the name on them.

Regards

My name is Lance Thomas.  My Great Great Grandfather (Edward Thomas) married Ann Wright (of the Wright Family of Milford, Pembrokeshire) in London in 1860.  Edward and Ann also moved to Sheerness in 1861, Edward was a shipwright and the Rpyal Naval Dockyard.  Now, you appear to have received a fair amount of information already, but I have a copy of the marriage entry between William Wright (born in Plymouth in 1800) and Sarah Childs (born in Hazelbeach in 1803). These two were married in Steynton Parish on 7th April 1822.  I do know that Ann's older sister, Catherine, married Lewis Williams and they resided in Limehouse (London) in 1861. Ann's older brother, William, married Jane George, and they ended up residing in Mile End Old Town (London) in 1871. Sarah (Childs) Wright was living with Catherine (her daughter) and son-in-law in 1861, and with her son, William (and wife Jane) in 1871.

Charles Wright also married another Jane, and immigrated to Canada on 6th April 1870. I have the actual ticket itself for the S.S. Lake Superior that took them (Charles Wright, Jane Wright, Samuel Wright and Martha Wright) from Liverpool to Quebec. I have more, but I am limited in space here.          Lance
