Hi all, could someone please lookup Edward Johnson b. abt. 1826 (makes him abt. 25) Soham, wife Naomi born Welney. I believe they would be in Ilkeston.

Many thanks for the marriage info maidmarianoops, I didn't have the date and place... but Downham is a little unexpected. There seems to be 3 in existence today... Northumberland, Lancashire and Essex... unless you know of another one that is no longer around. Caxton and Littleport make sense, however, I was hoping to place him in Derbyshire in 1851... (thanks sunflower for looking)... now I am worried that there may be 2 separate lines of Johnson in my line... just what I need! If there are 2 lines... then the Edward I need has a son named Jonah born in 1851, maybe not soon enough for the census. I will have to find them in 1861 to see if it is the same Edward or not.

Thanks maidmarianoops... that narrows it down, doesn't it? I found out that Jonah is indeed the son of my Edward, so there is still only one line of Johnson. Thank goodness.
